Artists with Attitude (AWA) is a vibrant and diverse collective of visual artists that aims to enhance communication between artists, art lovers and those who happen to stumble upon the work presented in the AWA gallery at OT301. AWA uses a model of exhibition- making that focuses on the importance of facilitating artists with an open space to present their work and work-in-progress to a diverse audience. AWA are not curators but function as mediators; using their extensive network in the visual arts to generate both audience and participants for the AWA gallery.

Go-Go 24
This project is a 24h residency where artists are invited to make a new work in the time and space given. Go-Go 24 takes place in the AWA gallery. On Monday at 1700 hours, an artist will occupy the AWA gallery to start their 24 hours. The artist is free to experiment and create whatever he or she wants. Anything is possible. On Tuesday at 1900 hours the gallery will be open for public to come to the opening of the new work. Go-Go 24 is free of charge.

NEW!
GO-GO 301
Since April 2012 we are offering artist a two week residency (301 hours) in our space. For this project AWA focuses on international, independent, self-sufficient artists who are interested to work intensively in Amsterdam for 2 weeks and present their work at the end of the work period. Since the building is a very lively place it’s important the artist is open and communicative. During the weekend there are often performances, bands and parties in the big studios of the OT301 building, this can be quite noisy but also very interesting. So if the resident is looking for a quiet hide away, the Go-Go 301 residency might not be what they are looking for, but if they are looking to find open, interesting, vibrant people this is the place to be. For this Residency AWA asks a contribution from the resident of 350 euro.

The contribution is including:

  • 14 days stay
  • Work- and exhibition space
  • Access to facilities of the building at OT 301
  • small living space with cooking facilities
  • Free (vegan) dinner 4 days a week at the Pepper restaurant in the building
  • All inclusive wrist band for free access to parties and cinema in the building
  • A real Amsterdam bike
